Pricing

Straightforward rates, agreed before any work starts. You'll always know what a visit will cost, and you approve any change before it happens.

In-home technology help

• Hourly rate: $75 per hour, with a one-hour minimum for an in-home visit
• After the first hour: billed in 15-minute increments
• Quick questions by phone or email: no charge for a few minutes of follow-up after a visit

Most single-issue visits — a new device set up, a printer sorted out, a Wi-Fi problem diagnosed — fit within one to two hours.

Larger projects

Photo scanning, backup and continuity planning, and technology simplification are usually quoted as a project rather than by the hour, once we've looked at what's involved together. There is no charge for that initial conversation.

Website creation

Websites are priced per project. A simple one-page site built on my templates starts at $400, which includes setup of your domain and hosting. Hosting itself typically runs a few dollars a month and is billed to you directly, so the site stays yours.

Good to know

• Service area: Sun City Hilton Head and nearby Bluffton. Visits farther afield may include a small travel charge, agreed in advance.
• Payment: cash, check, or electronic payment at the end of the visit, or on an invoice for projects.
• No resale: if something needs replacing, I'll explain the options and you make the purchase yourself. I don't mark up equipment.
• Estimates before work: for anything beyond a routine visit, we agree on scope and an estimate first.
